Businesses are set to enhance their focus on HR technology to achieve greater levels of personalisation in employee experience and to identify the latest trends in development, leadership, and workplace culture. The trend of focusing on individual employee needs is expected to continue to grow in the present year. The shift will move from people-centric to person-centric. This has emerged as a result of the pandemic, as employees had the time to contemplate what is truly important to them. Additionally, the digital employee experience will become more accessible to employers, contributing to the trend.

Technology is increasingly being used to enhance employee experience, and the data gathered is being used to improve each employee’s experience. 78 per cent of employers have a plan for using digital HR to improve the overall employee experience.
44 per cent of employees are utilising employee journey mapping that helps identify experiences that can be upgraded. Businesses that prioritise providing personalised employee experience will be more successful in creating a high-performance culture, aligning values and vision and developing new leadership capabilities. It emphasises the importance of a genuine and heartfelt commitment to personalisation for generating the emotional reaction necessary for success.
Skills and Development
Employers are taking several actions to improve their workforce. 52 per cent are offering an interactive career portal, 61 per cent providing mentoring resources and 43 per cent giving access to career counsellors for their staff.
Efforts on Sustainability
Employers are adding social and environmental performance metrics to their internal management reporting in response to increasing pressure to make a positive impact on the world. This demand for impact is sometimes even coming from within the organisation's employees. There has been an increase in the number of employers implementing strategies related to sustainability in the present year.
These strategies include employee volunteer programs that support social and environmental goals, using dashboards to consistently monitor and display social and environmental performance, linking executive compensation to sustainability, and incentivising employees to support environmental goals.
The companies from the Asia Pacific region are leading in sustainability efforts compared to the rest of the world. These organisations have a 14.6 per cent higher usage of executive compensation linked to sustainability and a 13.2 per cent higher usage of dashboards to measure social and environmental performance.
63 per cent of organisations in APAC now incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) measures in their executive compensation programmes. However, the progress in the APAC region is still lagging behind the global average of 75 per cent and other international regions.
The major trend is the rise of personalisation in employee experience, with employers using HR technology and data to cater to individual employee needs. Employers are implementing various measures to develop their workforce, including offering interactive career portals, mentoring resourcing and career counsellors. The increasing focus on sustainability in business operations, with APAC organisations leading the way in incorporating ESG measures in executive compensation programs.
