Automation comes with numerous key advantages in the Insurance industry, such as improved efficiency, error reduction, and growth in sales.
FREMONT, CA: The insurance industry has been slower to adopt automation technology, despite its advantages. According to a 2020 report by PWC, this can negatively impact their customer base. PWC surveyed 6000 people and found that 41 percent said they would switch providers because of a lack of digital capabilities, and 15 percent said this was the biggest challenge.

There is an increasing demand from insurance clients for ease of use and digitization. In particular, this is true as the digital generation takes over the consumer base. With automation, insurers can offer faster and better customer service, primarily by improving workflow efficiency and reducing human error.
The following are some of the key insurance automation cases:
Streamlining Underwriting: As automation improves data collection and analysis for claims, underwriting also benefits from system improvements. Underwriting also requires risk assessment based on information about a client and their desired policies. Health risks, creditworthiness, and policy history must all be considered.
IDPs, bots, and other intelligent technology can automate approximately 70 percent of this work. As part of this process, data is extracted, classified, and analyzed, as well as a client's history and overall risk assessment according to a company's internal guidelines. The automation of insurance is constantly improving to meet these needs, which is a reminder that what is available now will only get better.
Accessible Process and Business Analytics: Analytics and data are at the forefront of how businesses operate today. Data management is a significant challenge for insurers. Having so much data in multiple formats makes centralizing it with a manual system a slow and arduous process. This is another area where automation excels.
With tools like IDP, combined with targeted machine learning and AI, insurers can not only digitize all that information with little to no human involvement but also prepare it for analysis much faster and in the correct format to provide them with better predictions. By managing data this way, insurers have a better understanding of their business, their clients, and the future.
Administration and servicing of policies: Whenever a policyholder changes their address or wants to add another item, that information needs to be added to the policy, and everything needs to be checked. From the point at which the details of the request are received to the point at which it is classified, this admin and servicing can be automated.
